Is America still
“The Land of Opportunity?”
More and more often, it doesn’t feel that way. Not when the will of most Americans is overlooked because of a few who have their thumbs on the scale. They’ve been tilting it in their favor for some time now, and that has to stop.
That’s why we’ve started The Impact Project. Our goal is to unite people behind common-sense solutions that give Americans a fair shake and hold government accountable to better serve the people it represents.
ABOUT US
National politics get all the attention, but real impact happens at the state level.
Americans can see past the talk. They want action. Action that will help hardworking Americans from being squeezed. Action that will provide more opportunity for people to thrive. So, let’s not wait for Washington to act. The best path to meaningful action is in the states we call home.
HOW WE WORK
It takes vision. But more than that, it takes work.
We focus on the communities where we can bring people together to move beyond the inertia of inaction. We pull together uniters and doers who can propel solutions forward in their states.
By creating powerful coalitions and concentrating at the state level, we generate real impact for real people. That’s not easy, but worthwhile things rarely are. And what could be more worthwhile than unlocking more opportunity for more Americans?
OUR FOCUS
Common-sense ideas are as American as it gets.
When it comes down to it, our focus is pretty simple. We identify areas where the system gets in the way of the American dream and help remove those roadblocks.
Our elected officials should spend more time representing the people who elected them and less time catering to special interests. You and your neighbors shouldn’t be paying a higher tax rate than billionaires. If you’re a contributor to the most developed economy in the world, you shouldn’t worry about how you’re going to pay for your healthcare.
Americans should be able to save enough to retire and send their kids to college. These aren’t controversial issues. They are ones that have a very real impact on the lives of most Americans. That’s why it’s past time to change them.
